Went to Madison diner for breakfast on a recent visit to the area. Overall the food was good but it's more comfort diner food. The service was a bit on the slower side but the staff was friendly. They seemed understaffed for the amount of people eating in. The diner itself is super cool and has fun decor making it feel like an old school diner.
One of our island favorites. Ate here twice while visiting and will absolutely be back next time we are in Bainbridge!
One of my favorite breakfast spots on the island! The servers are always warm and friendly and the food is always delicious. My go-tos are the Huevos Rancheros or Avocado Toast.
The outside and inside is totally east coast diner vibe, totes cool. Had a basic two egg over E w/bacon, Hash browns and a homemade biscuit. All were good with the biscuit being the stand out, warm, flakey, soft.... very nice waitress. Food comparable with Steamship Diner but without the excruciating wait for food. Ya feel me??
What an awesome place! Well worth the walk from the boat. Great local restaurant in a beautiful neighborhood. This is such a classic looking diner. The decor was very retro and cute. Red leather seats and bar stools. There is even a payphone on the wall near the restrooms. The food and the service could not have been better. Incredibly friendly waitress (Francisca) and very delicious omelets. The homemade biscuit was so good! Highly recommended.
We were treated to Extremely friendly waitstaff. Our coffee cups were always briskly topped-off (honestly, I hate having to ask for coffee when dining out for breakfast). Prep time was super quick, correct, and darn good! A quaint retro trailer diner, everything seemed just right. Give it a try. If you made it this far you won't be disappointed. I'd easily go back!
Old school diner on Bainbridge Island serving old school diner food. The folks that work here are upbeat, chatting with their customers even though it was minutes before close. When an errant order occurred, it didn't hit the trash but was gifted to a customer who still looked hungry. Great place for a quick meal and a good time.
What a sweet place. We were on the Island for the very first time, and I'm glad we chose this diner.I was a lil bit seasick from the almost empty Kingston ferry, so food was necessary. We shared the classic Benny and he got coffee. The Benny was super solid. Loved the hollandaise. It arrived on two plates which was nice because we hadn't asked for that. The best part was the service, so welcoming, kind and friendly. 10/10. I did not want to dock them any stars because it was such a good experience, but a few notes: Portion size was a bit small with the hash browns. It took a bit to get the food. No big deal, but if you're in a rush, keep in mind. Darling classic metal diner, small but mighty. Also expect it to be pricey, I didn't know the area was so expensive.
My wife and I stopped into Madison on a Monday morning for breakfast before catching the ferry to return home. Free parking can be found in the small parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. GPay is also available. The diner itself is an old refurbished dining car which made our breakfast that much more fun. Seating can be found at the counter, outside and inside at booths. The grill area is visible to all. We arrived at opening and had no problem getting seated right away. As we were leaving, there were no open tables left. I imagine that Madison experiences wait times for seating. Breakfast is served all day long for those who enjoy sleeping in. Local canned craft beer, hard cider and wines are available to sip on while dining. During our visit, my wife sipped on bottomless coffee with cream and sugar for $3.50. I had water. We shared the Heuvos Rancheros for $16 + $2 up-charge for avocado: Two crispy corn tortillas, salsa Verde, and two eggs topped with sour cream and scallions. Served with black beans. I am constantly on the hunt for exceptional Heuvos Rancheros and Madison did not disappoint. Our breakfast was plated beautifully and was savory, filling and delicious. Service was friendly and perhaps a bit understaffed which may lead to long wait times.
